Any time we lose someone we love, it’s always “wrongful.” But “wrongful death” has a specific legal meaning. A wrongful death is a death that was caused by another driver’s careless, negligent or reckless driving, regardless of whether the car accident was in Clearwater or any other city in Florida.

Careless or reckless driving that result in the death of someone can be caused by any number of dangerous acts, including: speeding, drunk driving, failing to stop or yield the right of way and even distracted driving. When any of these wrongful acts occur the survivors have the right to bring a claim to recover for the loss of their loved one.

We have found that holding the wrong doer accountable is often an important first step in helping loved ones work through the grieving process. And, while no amount of money can make up for the death of someone you love, holding the driver accountable is a way of acknowledging the loss you have suffered.
